    It's OK for the daily visits to the doctor, but for any emergency or serious illness that is non-life threatening, it blows huge chunks.

    People in England routinely wait 6-9 months for things like gallbladder surgery. England does have a private insurance system too though.

    I'll give the Czech medical system a little bit of a pass because I lived there just a few years after communism fell. I tore my acl there and the treatment was absolutely worthless, but I waited 3 months to come home for the surgery because I was coaching the Czech National Team in the 1994 lacrosse world championships.

    It's better now, but the only way I would let my kids get any substantial treatment there would be if we could not get them home.
