The hallof fame will anounce the 2007 inductees later today. Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr. will both be in on the 1st ballot. There is almost no way Mark McGwire will be elected this time. Should he be in?

Yes, this is still America and you are innocoent until proven guilty.
Unless there is concrete proof that he did then YES he is in.
The steriod era is bad but if NO to Mcgwire then just ban everyone from 1986-2005. Doing that is the only way to make it right. Anyone ever suggest that Cal Ripken is? Steriods not only make you bigger but they help you recover from injuries faster. Ripken and the streak could raise a flag. It is a shame but I grew up watching these guys and rooting for McGwire in 1987 and Clemens with Boston, Gwynn and his quest for .400.
Ripken and the streak. It is amazing that these BBW's feel that they are the judge and jury using THEIR qualifiacations. :bsflag:

Not this time with 23.5% (128 of 545 ballots).

Once all the drug tests are revealed from the Grand Jury probe of the Balco Case, look for a lot of talking. When a few more people admit to using the juice, maybe McGwire will come clean too. When that happens, the voters will forgive him and vote him in.

Who in their right mind would not have voted Ripken in?

As far as McGwire goes, I think eventually he'll get in. Once all this steriod stuff shakes out and dies down, he'll make it.
