why would you want him lighter? we're only talking about 5 pounds, and that's all muscle...

we need somebody to move the pile in short yardage, whoelse is going to do that? Nothing would make me happier to see Shelton come in and be our Duckett or Alstott or even Bettis...Hell, he's bigger than Mack Strong, maybe he could be converted into a fullback, wouldn't be the first time

I would be happy to see us using Williams as our starter and having him split carries with Shelton. That would give us a nice contrast of styles. I am still not sure Foster is a long term guy here.

I think that has already been discussed. My problem with that is he doesn't get low enough when he runs (or hasn't in the past) he likely won't get low enough when he blocks either.

well I'm discussing it again, it is a Shelton thread...he can improve his blocking, it takes work...Mack Strong didn't just turn FB over night, he had to make that commitment and go for it

Strong has always been a FB in the NFL and played both positions at UGA.

don't know when exactly he became a fullback between H.S. & now, but at some point he made a commitment to be a fullback...

A guy doesn't just become a fullback because he's big. Shelton would not make a good one, but he could still make for a solid tailback.

Apparently Shelton visited a downtown fine dining establishment recently where a buddy of mine is a manager. Said Shelton dropped the "do you know who I am" line for no particular reason other than to just say it. So we know that he at least has the attitude of a superstar, hopefully his play will catch up.

I could care less if the guy is a bastard. Just be a productive bastard. The beauty of Sundays is that it's not about the rims on your Escalade, or the ice around your neck. It's your performance. That's all you have. Shelton will either perform, or he won't.

    OT, kinda:

Of the few "stars" I have met:

    Nicest guy: Will Witherspoon
Biggest ass: Golfer Hale Irwin. (By a landslide)
