    Isn't the fact that an MLB personnel director leaked that Sheffield was put on waivers the real story? That stuff is supposed to be a secret unless a deal is made.

    News about guys being put on waivers is really common. I'm not sure what the controversy is supposed to be.

    He'll catch on somewhere. He won't stop playing till he gets to 500 homers and he's like 15 away

    He is still with the Tigers. it is pretty standard procedure to place many players on waivers after July 31. it is the only way to complete a trade after the deadline.
