If the comment was directed towards me, oh well? You should know by now that I don't get to concerned about documenting the content of my post. Just don't see the need to back my opinion with "facts" written by people who get their information from other people and pass it on for the most part. MOST sports writers haven't had an original idea or opinion since their first day of Journalism 101. They are conditioned to stir the pot as much as they are to promote fact anymore...part of the reason I strayed from the profession. The other reason being that I am more of a conversational writter, which causes some interesting arguments with editors...oh the stories I could tell!
I don't see where it could have been directed at me or Piper...or even Sandy for that matter. No one really said anything of league preception. Some of what I was saying was based on some early perception of King, most of which I agreed with then...hard to say if the same would hold true today since he hasn't taken a snap in almost 2 years.
I wouldn't say King has promise, but he came into the league more polished than most. Can't say I see him getting much better than he was in his first 2 campaigns, which makes him a short term solution as a starter in any uniform. Just something I was chewing on at the moment.
No worries though, you know I value you opinion weather it's BS or not.:D

    Cool.

    Quoth the Raven...nevermore.

I kind of feel like McFly. He's not ever going to be great, his arm sucks, but he's got some abilities and doesn't put his team in a bad way too often.

I'll take a little, no salt or butter please.

I'm still waiting for God.. aka MvM to prove where Winky was not a surprise pick by all. He wants me to prove he was, well hell, find 20 sites that say he was not a surprise and I will find 20 that says he was... you do the research... you are the one that sleeps, eats, drinks and takes a dump by your football reputation, not me...

I thought you heard it on HBO.....

Sorry Sandy. No one printed that, pre draft. Mel Kiper is ESPN's draft guy. He had Weinke 2nd round. Admit it. You made that up.

No I did not, there were a few draft sites that had Winky as a possible 6th or 7th or aka Charlie Ward. I don't need to prove this. I saw it, filed it and don't care. At first I told the kid to show me 20 sites that said Winky was not a surprise where he was. Now, I'll settle for 10, links please. ;)

Sorry Sandy, TFY ranked Weinke the lowest. 4th round, 5th overall, right where we got him. Great Blue, cnnsi, cbs, boomer sporting news, espn all had him 2nd or 3rd round.

You have only listed one of many many sources... I don't argue those.

Here is a direct quote from "a" source that I think still stands...

"Negatives: Still is not very mobile or a gifted runner. While he has really improved his accuracy, he is not a pinpoint marksman who consistently puts the ball right on his receiver. Seems to be breaking a bad habit that has really hurt him of overstriding and then having the ball sail on him, but he still reverts back at times. Also has a tendency to throw some passes into the ground when he presses and his mechanics go south. Will turn 29 in July 2001 before he plays his first NFL game. Had a disappointing Orange Bowl vs. Oklahoma without WR Marvin Minnis to throw to. Could not play in the Senior Bowl because his left foot was still hurting. If rest does not heal his foot, it may require surgery. Did not throw well at the Combine and seemed to be pressing."

    Quoted from internet article....

[mag] By the way, the hole "people get paid more than I do"

[sandy] As far as the "hole people that get paid" deal, I have counted more than 3 that feel the same. but I guess they all suck too.

    [mag] I don't rightly care . . . but it's pretty fucking

[mag] and it's not a stretch

[sandy] I'll take a little, no salt or butter please.

[sandy] At first I told the kid to show me 20 . . . Now, I'll settle for a 10 inch link, please.

[sandy] [I'm Trying] to be break a bad habit that has really hurt
