I'll admit that Shav has been a big dissapointment this year, and in his college career so far, but he hasn't been a bench warmer or anything. Not saying he is Kevin Garnett cause that's ridiculous, but Duke will be better with him in there, especially on defense cause they need his height. I can't believe he was Top 10 coming out of high school, but some just don't pan out. If he can come off the bench and get about 7 points and 5 rebounds then that will help out Duke a big deal. And speaking of Melchionni, I kind of like him, and he should get more minutes coming off the bench when Randolph gets back.

Yeah if he could do that. I bet it would help them. Problem is 5 fouls get in the way of that happening.

I wouldn't exactly call that carrying the load or stepping up to a bigger role.

He hasn't done it so far - no reason to think he will do it night in and night out over the tough ACC season if he wasn't doing it against the early cupcakes dook was playing.

He may get better and be more consistent next year. But thats what he was supposed to do this year with nobody else but Williams under the basket.

Dang Thelt, you are going over the edge here.

Sure Shav could get better, but so could Grant and Sanders for UNC. OK, Shav may have a better chance than these two, but he may also get worse if his past has anything to say about it.

The guy did not play many games before he went out. How can you say his whole season is going to be a bust based on a handful of games? Give him ten games back and then judge him. He will be weak from mono so he wont do much right away.

He averaged 7 points and 4.5 rebounds last year. I see no reason why he can't do that again or maybe get a little better this year. He will get more touches than he did last year if he can get healthy.
