The team he got traded to, Toronto. Zo never reported and Toronto was forced to cut him.

So Zo signs with the Nets but sits out due to his kidney ailment and is subsequently traded to Toronto and does not show up forcing them to cut him. He then signed with the Heat once they looked like a contender?

How did he ever leave the Heat anyway?

    thats exactly what happened.
He retired from the Heat due to his kidney. He got his money from them and thus became a free agent. When he made a comeback, the Heat were in terrible shape, so he signed with NJ~

his health was fine when NJ was a contender, once they lost Kenyon Martin and started to struggle, Zos kidney "got worse". when he was traded to Toronto it got even "worse". then when hes a free agent, and the Heat look like contenders, all of a sudden he is healthy again. modern medecine is amazing isn't it?

What did Toronto get in the trade besides Zo, is that the trade where they give up Vince Carter? I would put this on a par with Terrell Owens and his 49ers/Ravens/Eagles experience.

    yeah, VC for Zo

East Rutherford, NJ(Basketball News) - The Toronto Raptors have traded All-Star swingman Vince Carter to the New Jersey Nets in exchange for center Alonzo Mourning, forward Eric Williams, center/forward Aaron Williams and two first- round draft picks.

Sounds like he did do those teams wrong. It is hard to feel sorry for Toronto since they knew he was damaged goods when they traded for him. It is hard to feel sorry for the Nets cause they got a good trade in the proceess. I imagine those two first round picks were more valuable to Toronto than Zo anyway.

I think my general dislike of the NBA makes me reluctant to feel any sympathy for the teams or the league.

The most valuable aspect of the trade from Toronto's POV actually had nothing to do with Zo. It was getting rid of Vince Carter's contract, who, coincidentally, started playing hard again once he was traded. Isn't the NBA FANtastic?

Salary space is more important than players who dog it, and that is one of the biggest problems with the NBA. Boston got Antoine Walker for "free" from the Hawks, GS got Baron Davis for a steal, and NJ didn't give up much for Vince Carter.

Yea I hate the NBA and they way it is structured. College basketball is ten times better. I do like the rookie salary cap thing they do though, it would be nice to have that in the NFL. The run and gun rules with the emphasis on individuals rather than teams can stay in the NBA though.

Oh Toront knew they weren't getting Zo. Carter got traded for 2 first round picks.

Everybody else was thrown in there to make the salary cap work.
