    Shaq calls Lakers 'My Team'

Wow. Kobe's an idiot- he doesnt bond well with teammates and he needs to realize that the team is more important than himself. I agree 100% with what shaq has to say.

    Kobe fires back..

Calling Shaq out for coming into camp "fat and out of shape"

insulted by Shaq's "big brother role" and then not calling him with support over the summer.

Trashing Shaq for sitting with a toe injury "that every knows is not serious"

    etc...

Things should be interesting in LA.

Kobe also said he wont play til he know's his knee is ready..

kobe's opting out of this contract next season. i wonder where he'll end up. i get the impression he feels like he needs to prove that he can win without shaq, which would mean he'd need to go to a team without too much talent but still with a good chance to win. jerry west might make a play for him...

wonder if they'll actually TRADE him before he bolts. that'd be interesting....

If the Lakers had to deside between one of them you know Kobe will be traded. But then again as Kobes trial will probably linger on who in their right mind would give anything close to what he is worth. Kobe is an idiot

    i've been thinking about this.

i'm convinced kobe is trying to force a sign-and-trade deal before his court trial. this would mean a guaranteed long-term contract. probably 6-7 years and near max pay. it's a smart move cuz he could end up in jail and his contract with the lakers would expire this year (or next if he doesn't exercise his option) and then he's done.

i'm sure that any future team would have to work it into the contract that it becomes null and void if he gets sent to prison.

can they do that? i mean, it would be part of the negotiation of his contract with the lakers if it was a sign-and-trade. i suppose the team he's being traded to would make that demand and not trade for him if it wasn't met. but i'm still certain a team would take the chance even without that criteria. it may be less than he'd like.

i would think that, like in the case of an injury, there'd be cap relief if he couldn't play for a season or two... or thirty.

i suppose the league could suspend him for 300 games if they wanted to, but i would think the player's union is probably not keen on contracts that have out clauses for the owners. they like their guaranteed money.

Lakers looked good last night. 32 assists, pretty nice stat.

Of course Kobe didn't play. :)
