I agree that Jesus will not force himself on anyone. I do however believe that once you make that choice that you can not unmake it.

If you can decide to go away from Christ then how far do you have to go before you are far enough away to lose your salvation? If you stop going to church or stop reading your bible does is that enough or does it take more than that, do you have to deny him and turn your back no him completely? Did Peter lose his salvation when he denied Christ? If he did then he could not have gotten it back according to Hebrews 6. I do not think Peter went to hell.

OK, Coke (a-Cola) through the nose after a long day of tedious errand running, not good.

P.S. You still have that cool afro? :)

The only qualifier I would place on that is that gays as a group tend to be less likely to admit their sin than others, at least that is the impression I get from them anyway. Not that Fred represents all gay people but his attitude towards it does seem pretty common.

If most of the people who voted believe that active gays can be saved, then who is doing all the "fussing" about active gays? I know that this isn't a very scientific poll, but the majority is clear here. Most of the people I know don't care one way or the other.

I think it is like the choice to have a child. Once you have a child then you always have a child. Even if that child turns his back on you and hates you he is still your son. When you accept Christ you become a child of God and he will not let you go even if you want him to. When you are "born again" you are a new creature and that creature is now part of Gods family.

Nor do I. Peter had not received the Holy Spirit at the time he denied Christ, which the warning in Hebrews 6 specifically mentions. But aside from that, I don't believe Peter actually stopped believing in Christ. He just tried to save his own skin in a fit of panic. He was repentant for that after the resurrection, and Christ restored him.

I did not vote because I do not think it is a simple yes or no answer.

Yes, you are. It says that once you are saved you can lapse back into a state of seperation from God.
