So you think now that every thing you felt was just your own emotion and not really a touch from God? I will admit that is not a story I have heard very often. I have known lots of christians who kind of fall away but they will tell you they still believe.

A one time conversion experience and baptism are no more of a guarantee of eternal salvation than a proposal and wedding are of two people spending the rest of their lives together in love.

Why not? But if you keep reading you will see that it wasn't like I converted Friday and was out drinking Saturday. I had a little bit of a history after that.

I hear it a lot from atheists. (We keep in touch, ya know, for that world domination thingy we are planning). I'll invite another "Fallen Christian" over to give his testimony. Yes, I do believe now that it was purely emotion. Atheists don't believe in God.

No one knows your heart but you and God so I can not say if you ever really got it or not. I find it hard to believe you did and then could completely turn away from it but I suppose it is possible.

Because the New Covenant that Jesus made possible is rooted in the individual's ongoing subservient relationship with Him. The book of Hebrews is filled with intense warnings against falling away from the faith, and there are similar warnings elsewhere in the NT.

Edit: As you are clearly aware.

    John 5:24

If you read all of Hebrews chapter six you will see that the verses you mentioned are speaking in the hypothetical. They are saying that if you could lose your salvation it would be impossible to regain it.

There are 4 different interpretations of those verses. The "hypothetical case" theory is one of them. There is also the "saved-lost" theory, the "professors-not possessors" theory and the "disqualification" theory.

I can not accept the notion that one can lose his salvation once he is truly saved. The reason for this is that one can do nothing to obtain salvation other than accept it. You do not save yourself it is all the work of Jesus. You do not do anything to obtain it and can do nothing to maintain it.
