:medal: Serious props go out to Rashaun Woods of Oklahoma State.
Not too shabby... 232 yards on 13 catches AND 7 touchdowns! :applause:

Oklahoma State WR Catches Record Seven TDs
By Jaime Aron, AP Sports Writer

DALLAS - Rashaun Woods set a Division I-A record with seven touchdown catches and had career highs of 13 receptions and 232 yards as Oklahoma State beat Southern Methodist 52-6 Saturday night.

Woods had five scores by halftime, including three on consecutive snaps, then tied the 34-year-old record with a 5-yarder early in the third quarter and broke it with an 11-yarder late in the quarter.

He didn't return to go for the NCAA all-division mark of eight set by Paul Zaeske of Division II North Park in 1968. Tim Delaney of San Diego State had held the I-A mark since 1969, when he caught six against New Mexico State.

Woods' first five scores covered 2, 10, 25, 32 and 34 yards, putting Oklahoma State (3-1) ahead 38-0.

The second and third TDs came despite being interfered with by cornerback Jonas Rutledge, who was burned on most of the scores.

The fourth and fifth were the easiest as the defense was sucked in by play action.

He set up the sixth with a nice 30-yard catch on the Cowboys' first play of the third quarter, then set up the seventh with his best catch of the game, a 49-yarder between two defenders.

To put seven TD grabs in perspective, consider that if it was his season total, it would be tied for fifth-best in school history.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Woods also set the single-game school record for scores of any kind. His first TD catch was the 30th of his career, another school record and the Big 12 mark, too. He's already the school's leader in yards receiving.

Josh Fields, who was just lobbing the ball into the end zone on most of the scores, tied the Big 12 record with seven TD passes. He finished 17-of-27 for 265 yards; only four catches for 33 yards were not by Woods.

The Cowboys first went to Woods on their third play, getting eight yards on third-and-five, then kept going back.

After four misses on deep balls during the opening drive, Woods capped the second series with the 2-yarder. Oklahoma State kicked a field goal on its next possession, then the following drive ended with the 10-yarder — and began the impressive consecutive-TD streak.

The Cowboys' next series opened at the 34 and Woods simply ran under a pass into the end zone on first down. Then came the first defense-freezing fake, giving him an easy 32-yarder. Three plays, three TDs, all within 3:39.

The next drive lasted longer. It ended when SMU (0-3) bunched the line expecting a run on third-and-1 from the 25, and Fields instead heaved another TD pass to Woods. The fifth TD matched the school record for scores in a game last done by Barry Sanders in 1988, his Heisman Trophy season.

The Mustangs' defense wasn't the only unit that got overwhelmed.

SMU quarterback Richard Bartel threw an interception on his first snap and was benched in the second quarter after completing one pass for minus-1 yard. The Mustangs didn't get a first down until the Cowboys were penalized 15 yards for facemaking midway through the second quarter. They finally earned one on a 21-yard pass to Keylon Kincade with 3:36 left in the first half.

That drive ended with consecutive sacks. After the second, quarterback Tate Wallis slammed the ball down. Rather than penalize the outburst, an official sympathetically patted him on the back.

SMU's only points came on a 5-yard pass from Wallis to Matt Rushbrook. A 2-point try failed.
