Mashburn took part in a conditioning program that was pretty darn demanding.of course its diffficult to create game conditions in any workout....i had a chat with him about it and he says he feels good but in late game situations at times ( over two games)
he has to dig deep from the energy well to make it happen.

give hime a few more games and the " game speed conditioning "will kick in.
The Hornets now have a variety of lineups they canuse to keep the heat on people....their defense has been pretty solid....
Another task awaits them...when Wesley returns Silas will have to take away minutes or greatly adjust to how he will distribute the playing time...you need jump shot game that wesely gives you...i've also had several conversations with a variety of nba scouts..(7 of em) all said the Hornets because of their size and depth is the team to beat in the east....the KEY??..THEY NEED THE MAJOR FIRE IN THE BELLY INTENSITY FROM THIS POINT FORWARD....THEY HAVE TO (AS DISPLAYED IN THE LAST TWO WINS) REALLY FOAM AT THE MOUTH AND PUNISH TEAMS WITH THEIR SIZE AND DEPTH.

I will get my thumb out of my mouth as soon as you get your mouth off of Shinn's dick. Your station tried to everything possible to ruin something good for the city and fans last Friday. I know it is tough to play second fiddle to Pack's show but have you actually sat and listened to your show before? I tried but your show really does suck. If the Hornets leave, please go with them.

Dude I'm not gonna lie... I was one of the first people that said invite gerryv over here... and then this BS went down about WBT holding back WFNZ's push that night... and because of that it looks more like you and all of WBT would be only out for your own and NOT what's best for Charlotte... you know as good as I do it looks like all of WBT are kissing Shinnridge's asses... and I understand you guys being the flagship station that you can't badmouth the hornets... that's all fine and good... but when someone else is TRYING to promote better fan attendance you would THINK that all of you guys would work together... and yes you talk about your V section... that's meaningless when you couldn't take 5 secs out of your day to promote what could have been a HUGE attendance... WBT HAS the better ratings so they have no reason to worry over WFNZ overtaking them... so why not this ONE time put the interest of Charlotte first??? And BTW I never started talking smack in this thread until you insulted me... I found that rather juvenille coming from someone of your age.

brain, this board is about cutting loose. if gerry wants to rip you, take it like a man (you've been dissed by far older than gerry here and i dont remember you saying anything to them about it). ;)

as far as i'm concerned, since this board has no connection to any business entities -- bring it all day long, v.

glad to have you aboard the wild ride.

Who's to blame for the 'WFNZ We Luv Our Hornets Nite' Sabotage ? ? ? ?

Folks, lets good back a week and look at the evidence :) . . . .

    1) On 2/13 (?) PRIMETIME (it might've been during the 5 or 6pm hour) Packman starts venting his spleen about how he was told via 'a reliable source' that forces within WBT were trying to thrwart his 'We Luv Our HOrnets/Salute to Indiana Jones Jr.' Night on 2/15 during the Hornets/Pacers game. He also mentions that he has received no cooperation from the team as far a getting a possible block of discounted tickets as well as other items; team officials said that they couldn't do anything for that game because a promotional night was already planned (i.e. Isn't Friday night the 'Front Page Observer' promotion  ? ? ?) . . .

    2) In Friday's Observer, Hornets officials said that they would've allowed WFNZ to broadcast live from the Coliseum Parking Lot, but not from inside the arena (obviously because WBT has the broadcast rights for the game). Packman sets up shop at JOCKS & JILLS across the street from the Hive instead anyhow . . .

Now, unless I'm missing some information, I haven't heard/read/seen any other evidence showing that WBT had thwarted WFNZ's efforts on 2/15. Anything to do with the normal (but a somewhat louder than normal) Friday night crowd the Hornets had for the game. Like I've said before, IMHO if we want to show the NBA that we still care about the Hornets, why don't we show up for all of the remaining home games  ? ? ?

Guys, I hate to tell you this, but Gerry V isn't really wrong here. And no, I don't like backing V. However, I've been in media for damn near 4 years, and you can't spend time promoting the competition, I don't care what it's for. Could you ever see Channel 9 promoting something that Channel 3's blood drive? Absolutely not. The blood drive and the "Save the Hornets" night were both great causes. Even if Gerry wanted to plug that, his boss would most likely ream him for it. They have a good lead in all demo's, and BT can't afford to lose any ground since Pack puts out a good and popular product. Ya'll can't take this stuff personally. Would you do stuff to help out your competitor if they would get publicity out of it?

To take it a step further, why don't all the other TV stations promote NBC6's 'Buddy Check' Program (that's the thing where on the 6th of every month, women are suppose to tell a friend to make sure they do a self breast examination**) ? ? ? I mean, increasing breast cancer awareness benefits everybody in the area . . . .

**Perhaps TC from WFNZ's MORNING SPORTS PAGE can start up a sister program with the T.O.C.B Participants or Strippers from the local area :) :D  ;) . . . .

You're exactly right SDS, you will never see anyone promote another station. However, you could see WFNZ pair up with NBC-6 for a Buddy Check. The radio-tv relationship is different. They cam promote each other much the way that Justice does on both airwaves. WBT, 107.9 and BTV are a little different because they are owned by the same people.
