Sendek Gone?

    A guy at church told me that Sendek is gone and that Rick Barnes has already signed a contract to take over at State. I know this has been rumored before but this guy says he got it from some guy in Hickory who is close to Barnes. Have any of you guys heard anything like this?

    i know barnes isn't overly happy with the support basketball gets at UT, but i thought the rumor was him taking the UVA job.

    I think he would be a better fit at UVA.

    Personally if Sendek does go, I really would like to see State get a young big time coach on the rise if they can.

    4 straight tourney appearances and a sweet 16 this year, We love him in Raleigh!!

    Barnes would do better at UVA. Virginia should always be a power in the ACC and it's a damn shame the way it's gone in the Jones-Gillen eras.

    I'd rather see Barnes go to State, especially since he's from HIckory. It's time for Sendek to go IMO. Plus Barnes won't take any shit from anybody.

    I don't know that everyone in Raleigh loves him. It's been 9 yrs and not one NBA player to come out of the program, they seem to constantly underacheive. I'm not sure if it's a lack of coaching, lack of motivation, or a lack of talent, but I do know that it is the head coach's job to fix the problem and Sendek's not done it. Other coaches have done better in less time than Sendek(i.e. Pitino at Louisville, Barnes at Clemson, Providence or Texas, etc). I know some will point to the sweet 16 this year as proof that we need to give him one more chance but I'm tired of watching this team loose games they should win throughout the season and then peak at tournament time and play just good enough to get in and then can't do much when they get there. It isn't a second rate program and I'm tired of settling for second rate performance.
