Going into week 1. Really bad offense, Defense WAY better than expected.

Offesnively, I expected to see more of Foster and Weinke. Weinke, I don't care to see more of. Foster ain't looking good.

Defensively, We all worried about our corners. Not anymore. I'm not even worried about picking one up. Peppers is awesome. The whole defense is.

If we can improve our Offense by JUST A LITTLE, we'd have won a bunch more games. Our defense is that good.

So, it's all good. Right about where I figured, I just didn't think we'd win 3 in a row and lose 5 straight.

    OFFENSE. Next year build offense.

i agree meat- i'm not pissed (so to speak) in the big picture. i'll be happy w/ 6-10. seriously, i will. offensively, we need a legit reciever to complement moose- moose cant be effective if he's double teamed. we need speed at the rb slot- we cant count on foster either. we need to be prudent with our draft picks, but i think we need to look for another rb- smith aint a spring chicken, so lets bring in another guy to pose a threat to foster, or perhaps complement him, or perhaps replace him. the qb slot is maleable- i think a veteran could work next year, i'd live with one, but we might have to go with drafting one (unless fasani really impresses, i dont think so though). we need a dynamic in the offense, at TE or at FB- hoover could be that player. i feel he doesnt get the touches he deserves.

but overall where we stand- i'd have never thought our D WOULD BE THIS GOOD.. and i'd never thought that our O would be that bad. but still, i have loads of hope and excitement- that was the most EXCITING PANTHER GAME i've been to in a long ass time. the defense put on a show. and the jersey's kick fucking ass!!!

It's like everything is in reverse mode. Last year our D was laughable and our O wasn't so bad, in that they moved the ball. Now it's the D that is carrying the load while the O is on the sidelines scratching their heads.
Other than the way we're losing, we are EXACTLY where I expected us to be. We're on a 6-10 pace and that's right about where I saw us three months ago.

If Peete gets healthy, we might win a few more. If not, I don't think we will, unless the Defense scores points.

I don't think Weinke is the guy - not at all. I don't think Fasani is gonna be a 'Tom Brady'. Even though he's nothing like Brady, except he's young and white.

I like Shaun King in UFA. I do. I'd rather grab king that a rookie, And get other skill positions. Keep Peete and Fasani. Grab S-T-U-D receivers.

But man, our front 4 is so damned good. So so good. We drafted defense the last 2 years, and it's showing.

  5. Fasani isn't even Peter Brady...much less Tom Brady.

I said the same thing a month or so ago and it met with a luke warm reception. The factor to me would be the OC. If Hennings is still here, then I would say King fits the offense to a tee. Same for anyone similar to Hennings.
HOWEVER, if we get someone with a different O mindset, I'd have to rethink it. NO MORE WEST COAST OFFENSE! I am tired of that shit!!!
