The Morgan broken up pass thing does sound interesting and plausible. While I'd say that Mangum's hands are his best asset, I've seen him drop them before as well. So I dunno. I hope Morgan's the one who made it happen, rather than Mangum, because it'd be great if Morgan was already becoming an above average pass defender.

Then again, there's no shortage of slow, fairly weak TEs that have good hands, just that a good number of them have Polish surnames. I wonder why this staff likes Mangum so much?

I think getting overly excited or overly disappointed in anyone's play is unfair. Fasani did look good. He showed a good arm and good mobility, but we knew he had those when he came here. I wouldn't say he was inconsistent at all, and I wouldn't say his WCO background had anything to do with his decisions...he was just taking what was available. However, it was way too few plays to make any legitimate judgements on him. And annointing him as the starter at this point would be doing him and the team a major disservice. He does tend to be inconsistent, so even though he looked good Saturday, he needs alot of work on his accuracy and overall consistency. Lets not ruin him by forcing him in before he is ready.

I agree with Colin. The refs were awfully quick with the sack whistle. Most that were called would not be actual sacks in an actual game.

Overall, it was a good practice. Nothing particularly spectacular, but nothing horrible either. The CB's actually did a better job than I expected. Of coarse that was against our WR's, so it will be interesting to see how they do against other teams. RB looks solid. Smith runs as hard as advertised, and despite only getting a couple of looks, Foster seems very quick and has a great burst (much more decisive than our last franchise RB  ). Weinke was not the steadiest I have ever seen him, but I'm sure as he works his way back into throwing shape he will improve.
