Just keep in mind that Darnold was surrounded by ineptitude, from teammates to coaching. ... pure suckage.

 

It's a decent lottery ticket, but Panther fans are way too excited about a quarterback with a career passer rating of 78.6. Frankly, it's bizarre how Carolina is just handing him the reigns. You can make a solid case that Bridgewater is a better quarterback and a better fit.

 

The grass is always greener when you don't have a REAL franchise QB. And that's everywhere.

 

If the only thing keeping a fan happy is the expectation of franchise quarterback then brother that fan is a piece of shit. And I’d like to get as many of them out in the open as possible. You gotta get together and tell yourself stories that violate every law of football just to get through the goddamn day? What’s that say about your roster?

 

I woulda been happy with Bridgewater had he had even a coupla comeback wins and not choked so much and put better folks around him, as well as a defensive balance. He did better in NO. Seemed so. Why was that?

I'm not sure I'll be happier with Darnold, we'll see. Hope so. The bar's not high though. Sometimes you have to set it low to be a happy fan of a perpetually below average home team. It's also easy to put all those iniquities on one player or coach or owner.

 

I think about Cam now, and what he was spared. Sometimes I feel grateful. The media said he didn’t hear a thing; went straight to New England. Then, somewhere in that blackness, he slipped off into another deeper kind. Isn’t that a beautiful way to go out, painlessly as a happy backup? Trouble with being the starter in Carolina is you’ve already grown up. The damage is done, it’s too late.

 

I enjoyed Cam on the field many times. Especially 2015. Magical. But like 1997 after the 1996 magic, it all went to shit like dumping a colon before a colonoscopy. Only without an appointment.

 

Back then, the Bull Ratio...most of the time I was convinced that I'd lost it. But there were other times, I thought I was main-lining the secret truth of football.

 

Fuck it, I’m going to put it out there that for the past hour I have looked over the current roster and I think there is reason to “expect” a winning season. With 4 or 5 more positive additions this could be a special team. . .. maybe not a playoff team in 21 but definitely a better team than 2020.
I still think it’s possible that teddy stays and there is a healthy QB competition. What if this scenario is what BOTH QBs needed to get sharp as hell.!?!?
I would not mind a 2021 Carolina QB controversy

 

I'm not going to judge Darnold anymore than I did Bridgewater before he played with the Panthers for a season. After the season of Darnold as a starter then it'll be much easier to compare the two.
