Players cut before June count against the current year. Players cut after June count against the upcoming year for the entire proration, but doesn't take away from that current year's proration.
So no, Hitchcock doesn't count against next year. Donnalley, Tuten, and others are possible June cuts mainly because their bonus amounts are so small it's largely not of consequence when something happens with them compared to salary.

Not exactly what I was asking, but it does clarify the other post. The article says we've got 9.9 mil in dead money with the players listed, I was asking how much more with Hitchcock for this year.

well you asked about next year so I answered about next year.
I imagine about $1.8 million is the dead cap on him.

9.9 million with the players listed, another 1.8 with Hitch, and assuming Piper's cuts come to pass another 3.4 million with those three. Sounds like about 15.1 million under going into next year. Add to that whatever the cap goes up next year then subtract the salary increases from the players still on the roster next year. No more shopping at K-Mart for our FA.

I hope we draft good enough not to have to buy starters on the FA market some role players yes but not big money guys.
