Don't blame Sox for that one, Angelinos. Heads up play by AJ. Yeah, LA got screwed ... by the ump.

But you know what...1917, man. I'll take it.

    On to L.A., er, Anaheim.

he wasnt called out... he called strike... thats not an out in this case... smart baserunning... :229031_ha

btw: should anyone be blamed , blame it on the pitcher for not pointing it out to the catcher to make the tag.. and blame the catcher for not making the automatic tag. That ball whether or not it hits the dirt it was close enough to make a check anyway...Tag the batter with the mit anyway...

what BS. should the catcher tag the batter or throw to first after every third strike, just to be sure?

the home ump should have checked with the third base ump immediately. I know he eventually asked the guy at third, but that was after about ficve minutes. no way he changes the call at that point.

Blame goes to the umps for blowing the call, but give credit to AJ Pierzynski...thought a second, wasn't sure, and created some doubt.

Did Colorado give back their 5th down? No. Should the inning have been over? Yes, but bad calls are a part of ALL sports.

It's a shallow victory, but I will take it to get back to even in the series.

no one suggested they should give back the win.

I just wish someone else beside Pierzynski had been involved. I hate that **********.

I thought it was heads up play Pierzynski... No i dont think a catcher should have to tag the batter or throw to first but when its that close i've always taught my players to make sure anyway...all the catcher had to do was swipe a leg on the batter .. its not like he had to run him down...I agree maybe the umps made a mistake call but without replay like football .. human mistakes will be a part of the game.. This call plays right into the White Sox
" small ball " style of play.
