But we are still only talking about a small group of players. It's not like there are 5-10 of them every year at the level of any of the players mentioned.

One and dones are definitely going to have more of an impact these days because of the NBA ruling.

Imagine if that rule had been in place when James entered the draft.

I think if Roy has a one and doner it will be in the Marvin Williams type role - someone who can come in and fill a need. No way he takes a one and done head case like a John Wall who really is only there to get draft exposure.

As to Marvin William's impact - he may not have lit it up in the FF but if he's not enrolled that year Carolina would not have won it all. He was an integral part helping them get there. With May going nuts that season scoring and rebounding they didn't need alot of points from Williams.

Why? Nothing factual supports that claim in the slightest. His biggest numbers came against scrubs, and judging by later seasons it seems like you could argue that David Noel or Reyshawn Terry could have picked up most of the slack from Marvin's absence. He was a good college player, but when you're only the fifth or sixth "most important" person on a team, then you're not the reason they won anything.

Another good point. I guess that one and done thing is a lot better than I initially thought.

In all honesty, the NCAA created their own poison with this. So why not use the one year rental services of superstar players? I think what Brandon Jennings do in Europe this year will determine the future of alot of players to come.
