    New Balance (not the cheap ones) was always my choice for a running shoe. im sure you'll get other opinions.

    Go to a running shoe store like Charlotte Running Company or Run for Your Life where they will analyze your running style and recommend the best shoe for that style. New Balance also has 1 or 2 stores in the Charlotte area. My last 2 pairs of running shoes were New Balance and Mizuno - I preferred the New Balance shoes.

    yep. Charlotte Running Company will video tape you running on a treadmill and suggest a few models that will work for your running style.
