I read in either Olney or Gammons stuff that there are people who believe he can become a Trevor Hoffman type closer. We'll see. If Tito starts bring in JP for 2 inning saves, I'm gonna have to lock him in my basement.

in that respect Timlin and Donnelly are gonna be almost as important to the pen's success as Papelbon himself.

Yep. And I still have hopes that one of the young arms is gonna make a contribution. You heard anything on Bard at all? Apparently they feel like Hansen is close to finding his old delivery.

Bard came in very late last year, didn't he? I can't imagine he'll start any higher that AA. Delcarmen, Hansack and Hansen will start the year in Pawtucket. I can't imagine Bard coming up before them, unless he gets to AAA and whips some ass.

The Boston press has really been touting Kyle Snyder. He'll make a few spot starts but pitch mostly long relief. Maybe he'll wind up in the rotation and Tavares can go back to the pen. Sure hope Lester can make it back sometime this year.

edit: don't forget Abe Alvarez :)

Really, you must have been listening to it between keg stands at your last frat party with your 20 year old girlfriend.

I assume he would skip rookie league. I didn't see him on the Portland and Pawtucket teams. It didn't show the Lancaster or Greenville rosters
