Francona said Wakefield doesn't remember how he injured himself. It might have been from sleeping on it wrong. The team put him on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Tuesday.

"He's actually been pitching with pain in his ribs for about a month or six weeks," Francona said the Red Sox played Texas. "The DL is a definite."

Something tells me this could last longer than 15 days, if it's been festering for this long.

I had the feeling, "no way, it has to end sometime."

I can't believe the manager of the Indians got shit for that. Load the bases with one out for Manny Ramirez and only one out? Damn, that's a waay better option.:wtf23:

Yankees leading the AL East now by percentage points. Is this a shock really to anyone. Yankees always win the East and Red Sox always battle for the wild card. Red Sox need pitching bad. Their young guys are very good, but they are so young and unproven and they are lucky they aren't down 0-2 in the series to Cleveland. It always seems like the Yankees are doing awful and the Red Sox are cruising and the Yankees always win the division. The Red Sox are about to be cruising right on out of the playoffs. Only 1/2 a game ahead of the White Sox who have similar pitching problems to the Red Sox.

White Sox lead the Wild Card by half a game. Twins and Red Sox tied and Yankees are 2 up in the East. Yankees are playing great. Bobby Abreu and Cory Lidle have been good pickups so far. Papelbon blew a save today to
