    Career Stats for OBP Slg%

    Youk - .376 .411
    Trot - .366 .489
    Tek - .350 .456
    Lowell - .339 .461


    I would expect his power stats to pick up a little this year, so he's really not out of line too much with those guys. Trot is gonna hit 5 against most right handers with Lowell there against lefties. But if Youk gets hot, you know Francona will go with the hot hand.

    hasn't varitek been hitting 5 when Nixon sits? highest I'd ever see Youkilis hitting (if not second) would be seventh. The guy averaged only six dingers a year in the minors.

    You can drive in plenty of runs without hitting homers. If he's picking up 2 guys in those situations, I have no problem with that. Plus, his patience is going to mean that people aren't going to want to pitch around Manny (although at this point, why would anyone want to?), because Youk is going to get on base about half the time.

    One of my earlier trips to Fenway, I was about 10 or so, I asked Rick Burelson for an autograph and the fucker flipped me off. goddam rooster.

    He's got 52 in 331 AB

    If he gets 500 AB that projects out to 78.5. 550 AB is 86.4.

    I'd love to see him drive in 80-90. we'll see, bacause he's gonna get those 500 ABs this year. If he hits .300 with 10 homers and 60 RBIs, I can see the Sox unloading him. too many light hitters in this lineup already.
