    I wondered about Glavine and Smoltz pitching together for the Richmond Braves, since I remember Glavine getting about 10 starts during his rookie year of 1987. I looked up on mlb.com and found:

    John Smoltz was traded for Doyle Alexander on Aug. 12, 1987.

    Tom Glavine was called up to Atlanta on Aug. 14, 1987.

    People around Richmond still refer to that one day as "our version of Koufax and Drysdale."

    Papelbon will be in the rotation, probably after the all star break if not sooner. With Wells on the DL they are already going to a 4 man rotation this week with Schilling starting tomorrow.

    Hansen will be the closer when they feel he is ready and can maintain his fastball closing on back to back nights.

    the greatest sports venue in America,, saw 13 homers go out of that park in one game 1978 against the Brew Crew,, first game of a double header on a Sunday in May
