Yep, it has. I'm still not in the Theo as the savior camp though.

Arroyo resigned too, for not much money at all.

    3 years - $11.2 million. Nice.

Fuck that. At 4 million a year, he's a freaking bargain beyond bargains. If they do trade him, they better get some studs back. I swear, if he would just fall out of love with his offspeed stuff and trust his fastball a little more, he could be awesome.

I think this is the year he makes the leap.

And I'm going to keep fucking saying that until he does, dammit.

that's the point. It would suck if they did, seeing as he basically gave himself away out of loyalty and a desire to stay in Beantown, but as attractive as he is to the Sox (salary-wise), he's worth double that to some small market team

ESPN reported that Coco Crisp has been acquired from the Cleveland Indians for Andy Marte and Guillermo Mota. That's a pretty steep price to pay, but I think this has now worked out for all teams involved. Crisp was a CF forced to play LF for the Indians, and now they have another young piece on a team full of young talent. Then Boston hasn't really replaced Renteria (Alex Gonzalez? Come on), but Crisp is a nice addition in center field and the Red Sox needed more immediate help than Marte could provide. Lastly, I think Renteria is a better shortstop than Furcal, but Atlanta got him for less than half the money. So in my eyes this is one of those rare situations where all teams involved legitimately got better.

sox are also giving up Kelly Shoppach. in addition to crisp, they get a reliever (david Riskie) and catcher Josh Bard.
