the As have traded starting leftfielder Eric Byrnes to the Rockies for a couple pitchers. Now they're down to four outfielders. Can't see how they'd want to trade Kotsay, unless they got a decent OF in return and the Yanks have nothing. Plus, they're still in the thick of the West race.

Does that 4 include Payton? I just don't see getting rid of Byrnes for Payton.

Anywho - let's just hope that Schill can pitch well while he builds up his strength. How many weeks was Foulke going to be out again - 4?

Who are the open closers out there?

they had four OF before the trade fo Payton, so now they're back down to four.

as far as potential closers, I'm not sure what's all out there. Off the top of my head, Danys Baez and Jose Mesa. Maybe Eddie Guardado.

I'd pay a whole lot more than a dollar. Every Day Eddie has made good on 21 of 22 save chances. 1.45 ERA.

giving up a dinger to Rodriguez was about as bad a way to end it as it could get.

When he came into the game, Fenway went fucking nuts. On the way out, fans were punching a poster of him on the wall outside the park. i blame it on Kasey Kahne who threw out the first pitch.
