i dont dislike him but i get sick and tired of the sloppy play. tarheel basketball was built on fundamentals. passing, footwork, free throw shooting, hard nosed defense, mental toughness (sounds like a team that won today?) add in great talent and you're darn near unstoppable. its called attention to detail and its what separates the champs from the posers.

    Roy Williams

Am I glad he is the coach at UNC? Definately

Is he a great coach? Yes

Can he win games when it matters? Not that I've seen.

Here is the biggest problem I see. Roy makes great adjustments at half time, but late in the 2nd half he can not make adjustments. I've seen the wrong guys in the game and getting the ball in the last minutes. I've seen a lack of set plays coming out of timeouts. It seems that Felton, McCants and May are relied on to make plays in the end. Roy allows teams to linger in the 2nd half rather than put them away. I'm not a coach, but I can say that Coach K knows how to close out games. He has big goofy white guys who have bought into his system and win games. I think Roy's recruits will help the situation, but that's no excuse.

Honestly.....I don't know whether Roy will make it to the sweet sixteen and if they do....Florida will be a tough game.....they are in the easiest division....but I have lost alot of confidence in Roy.

I hope all this BS buys me a final four.....carry on.

I think UNCs bracket is one of the two toughest along with Duke's. Not easy at all. Both teams will have very tough 3rd games.

    That's kinda what I said.

    Florida or Villanova for UNC

Duke has Mich. State or Syracuse

I'd rather play all four of those teams in than:

Oklahoma, Kentucky, Wake, Arizona, Illinois ,Oklahoma State, Boston College

only teams I would prefer to face in the third game are:

    Pittsburgh, Lousiville, Gonzaga

I'll give Roy the benefit of the doubt, until he has only his recruits. Right now he's having to work with what he was dealt. Granted it is some of the most athletic players in the nation. But you have to have it upstairs and believe in what the coach is doing and a team concept 100%. Right now I feel like he does not have the exact type of players that are willing to do either. Nor has he yet completely molded them into how he wants them to play ALL the time and he may never. Look back at his Kansas teams over the years and they remind me more of the old type Carolina players, or Duke type players these days. Considering all this and still go 27-4 in one of the best, if not THE best Conference in all of NCAA Basketball is pretty impressive, in MY mind. And no, he never won a National Title at Kansas, in what like 15yrs? But there are a LOT of good coaches that have coached twice as long as that and STILL have never even gotten NEAR as close as he has on MANY occasions.

A lot of talk is being said of Coach K doing such a great job this year with less talent. He has done a good job, as always. I don't think Duke has less talent, on the contrary I think they have as good or even more talented basketball players than Carolina. Coach K DOES do a great job recruiting. Coach K does NOT go out there and put the ball thru the hoop for his players, he does NOT run the plays for them. His PLAYERS physically do it, they are the ones making the shots, and executing, so give them some credit for the wins and Championships also. Now, are Carolina players are more athletic, yes obviously. But talent in a given sport goes deeper than just athletic ability.

You can only blame a coach so much for players not executing and not making shots, AND you can only credit a coach so much for successful execution.

I'm not bashing nor praising one or the other. They both are obviously great coaches, and I'm just glad to see Roy on the sidelines at Carolina.

If Duke can get past their 3rd game (which I'm not counting on but they may get an energy boost with the return of Dockery). Then I really, really like the against Kentucky whom I equate to a 4 seed.

Yes, Rashard Anderson played against Syracuse when Syracuse beat the crap out of them. Connecticut and Syracuse should've changed seeds. Boone and Villanueva will be tough to handle down low, but UNC's already beat them in Storrs and I think they'll beat them again. Kentucky is real overrated and very unexperienced in key positions like Rando and Morris at Center. I'd like to see a Shelden Williams-Andrew Bogut matchup in the Elite 8.
