yeah, they pad their resumes in ACC competition and then go out with a whimper in the tournament. whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess. ask JJ Redick what all the accolades did for him at the end of the day. I think he averaged about 10 points on 13 percent shooting in the final games of each of his four years.

 

Rudy Gay really helped your argument the past couple of days. Totally disappeared yesterday with about 5 min left, threw what should have been the game-losing pass a couple of days before that.

BTW, if you're gonna name a couple UConn players as example of how Gay was hyped up, Boone probably shouldn't be included. If anyone "disappeared" for the Huskie in this tournament, it was him, and he actually regressed this year from last. This really shows that you don't know a whole lot about hoops. Didn't Redick average more points per game this year than ANY player in the ACC over the past 30 years. That in itself is unbelievable, and Gay had a good game yesterday, it was Boone and Armstrong that sucked it up. That and their defense.

Actually, Boone didn't have a great tournament and has been regressing, strange. I was really high on him as a freshman, but not nearly as high on him two years later. And Gay did have one of his better games yesterday in the tourney. Doesn't stop the fact that he did nothing but shoot an airball in the last ten minutes of his team's most important game. It really doesn't matter in this discussion as it's a regular season award, I'm just not impressed with Gay in any way. I'm sure he'll be a fine pro, doesn't make him one of the top four players in college basketball this year.
