True, a lot of producers are stupid asses, but she was just doing her job. It ain't like Jim Gray did a few years ago with Pete Rose, bringin' up a bunch of old shit. She asked the question. It was bold, but it was gonna be asked 30 minutes later in the press conference anyway, which it was. She just trumped the rest of the media that didn't pay millions of dollars to have the tourney broadcast on it's network. Bernstein may be stupid, but she ain't stupid for asking that question.

No. But why does she think that rephrasing it is going to make him answer it the second time?

There is a time and place for everything. It just kills me when some of these TV people get all defensive when some coach or player goes off on them. If not the actual reporter then all of his or her counterparts start ripping away on the "hot head" in the days following . They do this on their radio, tv and in their print media avenues. I listened to WFNZ today Williams got ripped by most of the hosts and other sports media types, while BB was justified in her actions. My point is this, what do they expect? These guys competitive fire is still burning DIRECTLY AFTER OR DURING a game, or race or whatever. How about letting somebody cool down a bit before sticking a mic in their face and playing 20 questions. They're only human, some people are gonna blow. A LITTLE common sense could go a long way. I'm not anti media, but they should not have carte blanche in their tactics.

Roy Williams knew he was going to get asked about Carolina so if he was going to flip out about it, why even agree to do the interview?

He has no choice. CBS gets to interview both coaches as part of their contract with the NCAA. I have no problem with BB asking the question the 1st time, but Roy's answer made it very clear that he understood that she had to ask it, but it pissed him off and he would not be talking about that question at that time. He was concerned with his kids. Then she asked it again - that's when he got pissed. I blame her for not having the common sense to realize that he was not talking about that that night.

yep..they have to do interviews. Every player has to make themselves available for interview also. Every Nascar driver has to do the same. It's part of the tV deal.
