The shotgun approach, with such a difficult position to project, may not be so bad. And I guess, since Newton has been here thee years and they really haven't gotten him much help, you could view it as important to show they are willing to furnish him with some weapons. Especially since they dumped virtually all of his WRs.

That said I am a huge believer in putting resources on the LOS on both sides and we need OT bad, and what isn't happening there is frustrating no doubt.

I think we could go with another WR like a Bruce Ellington or Paul Richardson that gives us a speedy, agile guy on the other side. (or Latimer but he'll be gone)

Would love to see Bitonio be there. (or Moses/Kouandijo)

Be interesting if a DE like Crichton is still on the board.

Yeah not a great spot for remaining OT. I can see DB or TE possibly. Maybe a G.

    Why? Bitonio is awful.

I agree with strat about possibly doubling down on WR, especially with Coach Micool describing Benjamin as more of a TE. Maybe Benjamin is Tony Gonzalez. Unfortunately he may also be the USC Mike Williams.

    Sometimes here, sometimes there

Benjamin is no Gonzales, and he could be the USC Williams....dunno

I think it would be nice to have Olsen, Benjamin, Cotchery along with a burner on the field at the same time sometimes, then you'd have all 4 different types of guys all being pretty good weapons (if Benjamin turns out ok- but who knos right now...he could be a one hit wonder, which would suck).

At least gettleman didn't trade lower into the 1st round to get him...ugh

I don't necessarily think Benjamin is more of a TE than a reciever, he just reminds me kinda of a hybrid, but more of a WR who resembles a TE.

Hell, its possilbe he could get bigger (getting slower too) and work like hell on blocking and be a pretty good TE, who knows at this point tho. He really doesn't have a lot of tape and I don't remember wtching him live but a coupla games and on TV live for a handfull....and he only stood out moderately. Hopefully he works on his hands/catching. Funny, he seems to go after and catch harder balls better than he does when the balls hits them right in them....I also wonder how he does with pretty hard thrown balls on a rope like Newton throws with no touch whatsoever.

No, you were right the first time. Benjamin should be viewed as one of the modern TEs. Here's another comparison:

    Jordan Cameron - 6'5" 254lbs., 4.59/40, 1.53 split, 37.5" vertical, 33.5" arm length

TE or WR, we need weapons for Cam.

well I'll take it if he has as good of a 2014 as Cameron did last year

I think he might run all the routes better as a whole than Cameron...not just posts and seams (not that that is all Cameron does well...)
