And he was declared out and the Yankees won. It was then appealed and the bat was declared legal, and the runs allowed to stand. I think that they finished the game at a later date.

There is no way that you can try to compare these situations.

There is a difference between failing to have good personal character and actually cheating at the game. To me a guy who cheats by using steroids or a cork bat deserves to be kept out of the hall more than a guy who was a drunk or a druggie. To me what dimishes what they did on the field is more important.

If Pete Rose threw a game so win a bet he should never be let in the hall. If he did not then he should have been inducted many years ago.

    Great point
So the games he bet on and had a chance to control were when he was a coach! So keep him out as a coach

But to take away Rose's records and what he did as a player is an injustis
This man played every position during his playing days.
    Yes Pete pitched 3 indings

Baseball makes me puke HALL OF SHAME

That's my 2 cents and more done

I think you all are comparing apples and oranges. It is alleged that 60% of all BBall players are on the juice. If so, that percentage constitutes more than 9 players on a team. So, with this logic it's ok to surmize that all nine players that start are juicing. If so, why are they not as good as Bonds? Why are we mad at Bonds only? Why are we not pissed off at the guy that doesn't have the great stats, but is still using. This is fucking bullshit! Most of these fuckers are using and the only reason people are pointing him out is because of the success he's having and that he's been so outspoken in the past.

I hope he hits a 1000 bombs and on the last one drops a hypodermic needle on home plate. It's his body, his right.

I dont get the idea that Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron were using steroids. The problem I have with Bonds is that he is breaking those guys records by cheating. I agree that they are all doing it and I would just as soon major league baseball folded. I rarely watch any of it. Still the home run records mean something to the guys that hold them, or to their families and to see a guy cheat to break them is pretty sad.

How do you figure this? I think all of them should be banned regardless of their stats.

Also on the other end, I doubt Rose is the only one that has ever gambled either.

The owners know who is on the juice. They profit from the extra homeruns that players hit due to the fact they are giving away years on their lives due to known health risk in taking roids. See Lyle Alzado. No seemed top give a shit that Jose Canseco admitted, no one cared when Ken Caminetti admitted. But now that Bonds is going after the holy grail of baseball now the owners want a stronger steroid rule? Whatever. We would all probably be surprised at the numbers that are juice or were juiced.

I don't doubt that at all, and you are right I am sure. But none of the things you mention are an excuse now? IMO, if can be proven ban whoever from the game, owners, players, trainers or whatever. Baseball used to be my favorite sport, now I hardly watch it at all.

Pro football and college basketball are about all I watch now.
