    Illinois coach Ron Turner fired...he's a former pro OC and had a sometimes-decent program in the Big Ten. Might be big for this conference if they can get a bigtime coach in the program, and I'd expect he heads back to the pros.

    as a diehard bears fan and loyal illinois alum, HELL NO! Wanny's been exiled from Illinois and Florida. Does Alaska-Anchorage have a football team?

    As for Ron Turner, his recruiting was suspect. He's had one great QB, Kurt Kittner, who subsequently has yet to find a home in the NFL. Turner had a penchant for smaller scatbacks. Never could get the defense right. I think he had 4 DCs in his tenure.

    Got out recruited by Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and even friggin Northern Illinois. Yeah, I thank him for the BCS season, but that's just 1 season out of 8.

    Now it looks like the AD is enamored with Ron Zook. Can someone give me the pros and cons of Zook. I mean the guy was demoted from DC to special teams. Something's not right here.
