Been listening to some. Going down the list and listening to stuff I haven't heard in a decade or have never heard.

Right now listening to Love - Forever Changes. Never heard it.

Wow. I knew they were around for a long time, but I didn't realize they have over 500 albums.

Interesting list. Seems if you were around in 1973 or earlier, you'll get a place on the list. While the Stones and Dylan are, without doubt, musical icons...they were also known to have a ton of filler tracks on their releases. Especially Dylan. WAY too heavy on the Beatles. NO James Brown should be listed.

Metallica's self titled is listed. Yes, it was the most successful commercially, but it was also their sellout album. Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning are the TWO essential Metallica releases.

2 Pearl Jams? Nirvana's In Utero...sucked. NO Alice in Chains? Where's Shout at the Devil...I think it's overrated, but it was a very influential release that helped create a scene.

No Animals by Pink Floyd, but that train wreck, Pipers at the Gates, is listed?

No Number of the Beast? Did I miss Machine Head by Deep Purple?

At any rate, it's Rolling Stone's list. Not TBR's.

I'm digging some Hotel California right now. Haven't heard it since high school.

I'm not viewing it as accurate, I'm viewing it as a list of music worth checking out. There's actually a good bit of stuff I haven't heard.

Alot of the good stuff is in the last 200........

I know. It's just hard not to criticize these lists form the "pros."

    Agree with the final 200.

To each their own. PATGOD is one of my personal top 10 faves, whereas Animals can be a tough listen for me.

It is odd to list like this, not sure why Californiacation is one spot higher than a greatest hits album from the Temptations, with them sandwiched Nas and Tom Waits. Would be kind of cool to put those in a changer and hit random. You can listen to "Life's a Bitch" and then My Girl.
