I'm one of the few die-hard Sox fans who doesn't hate Clemens. After Maddux does it, I don't know if there will be another 300 game winner.

I have a feeling we may see the Rocket in game 6 or 7....

I have mixed feelings about Clemens. They last 2 years that he was there he was obviously out of shape, and he didn't perform up to his standards. But he was not done - I blame Duquette for letting him leave.

But it was the things he said afterward that really pissed me off. When he said he just wanted to win, then heads up to Toronto - who sucked. Then not throwing a bone to the fans. Then going to the Yankees. Ugh.

The Sports Guy wrote a great article about this. I'll try to find it.

Definitely it takes two to tango, Clemens and an extra 25 pounds and Duquette not wanting to fork over the cash. I don't feel the same way I did about Clemens in early 1986 when I was 9.

I'll never forget the interview on WCVB in Boston where he said "MLB isn't all fun and glory. Road trips and carrying your luggage around..." "Boston is a bad place to raise your kids" was another classic.

Another classic was before the 1991 season, nobody knew where the fuck he was. He was at least two weeks late for pitchers and catchers to report. He didn't call anybody. Every radio station in New England had polls as to where he was. He actually attended an Andrew Dice Clay concert in Houston.

The whole "if I don't go into the HOF as a Yankee, I'm not going" was bullshit also.
