Definitely. The amount of downloadable content already released is already equivalent to another game. Playing it on Wii would be half the experience at best, and that's not even counting what else is coming down the pipeline.

Rock Band 360/PS3 is poised to survive the whole generation. I'm hoping for a RB2 but only for a keyboard peripheral. Not sure how that would work into the current structure of the game, it's nearly perfect as it is.

Nice for the wii owners that it is coming, though. If I was looking at Rock Band as a new kereoke though, I'd buy it on a next-gen platform. You will get tired of the standard 60 songs on the disc eventually.

There is a potential workaround, which I haven't heard mentioned so don't get your hopes up. But they could always release expansion discs for Rock Band Wii, however you could still only play 'Expansion' songs or 'Original Disc' songs which would hurt the flow of the game. Since they would be on separate discs you would have to switch discs to play every song.

yeah, the DLC is so worth it. Can't wait for Nevermind so my off-key singing will finally be "right."

    RB2 definitely needs backing vocals.

Rock Band Wii is not kewl. It's PS2-equiv, and it's even outsourced (as was the PS2 dev)...so, very little character customization (it doesn't have the power to dynamically render the on-stage performances if the characters are customized), no DLC, no on-line patches (like the recently introduced game change that allows a LOT easier progression in world tour, etc.), and other stuff. It's good if there isn't anything else, but the XBox or PS3 options are just so much more... And I'll bet it won't support the upcoming smoke and lights add-on...which is a must for the serious toy-musician.
