This feeds into what I said about the Chargers model. They don't have great coaching, in my opinion. Anthony Lynn is just like all of the guys I've mentioned in this thread. They carefully draft well and carefully acquire free agents.

Obviously, for this to work, we probably need an upgrade at GM. I'm not ignoring that at all.

Just fucking don't do stupid shit, basically. I think I've discovered the secret to life. Don't do stupid shit. Let the rest of the league shoot themselves in the foot trying to find the next unicorn qb/head coach combination.

    Don't do stupid shit.

I've never been a fan of Hurney. We need to shed some older players
    • Adams
    • Munnerlyn
    • T. Smith
Come to mind along with the others that have already decided

Hurney 2.0 has been more measured than Hurney 1.0, but still not at a level that I would consider viable for long term growth. The out-of-nowhere Poe signing proved that he's still willing to jump into free agency without a parachute at a moment's notice.

Stupid shit would include hiring a head coach that three other franchises decided wasn't worth it.

Yeah, because those three teams are known for great decision making. I'm also pretty sure he left Buffalo under his own volition.

The primary reason Tennessee fired Mularkey is they believed he was holding back Mariota. As it turns out, Mariota is just a middling quarterback. That's the reason why their new, young, progressive OC has reverted back to riding Derrick Henry 25x a game.

So is that a reflection on Mularkey or a reflection on the Titans judgement? Are you saying competent people never get fired, ever? You can't possibly believe that.

By the way, I'm not advocating for any of these guys over Ron. I'm just throwing some names out if he gets canned. I would just as soon keep Ron because I think he's the same as the rest. It would be nice to see him reign in Norv a little bit, as well as button things up and not film a new fucking commercial every week, but he's a perfectly capable head coach.
