Not sure why they canned Blackburn

The rest I can see. Not many teams have back ups for special teams kickers, you just muddle through and sign someone the next week

 

I've never seen a team hold a pregame tryout for kicker. There's usually a guy they have designated as the emergency kicker. Same with punter, long snapper, and holder.


That was embarrassing.

 

Yeah there's lots of situations in coaching that should be the armageddon guys thinking shit up test. You have 53 roster spots, each unit should have at least 4 deep if you take out peeps that shouldn't do anything else (qbs, ls, k,p).

 

Especially in the Covid List era. There's literally no explanation other than negligence.

 

Joe Judge was hired the same week as Matt Rhule.
Both went 10-23 in their first two seasons.
One still has a job.

That's the dichotomy in Tepper's quest for a rockstar OC. No one worth their salt is going to come Charlotte just to commit career suicide. It's a self-defeating goal. That's why you're going to end up with a miserable retread like Jay Gruden or Pep Hamilton.
