oh yeah! i remember now. that was towards the end of the two towers extended version. gotcha, ice. merry and pippin had some cool scenes in the extended version. so did sam and frodo. the rope and the cloak that the elfin kind gave them had powers! heheheh...yup. the rope untangled itself. i noticed that.

I'm amazed; this is the only set of movies over three hours long where I didn't notice the passing of time unitl the very end.

Pure classic. I'll be getting the super-extra-bonus edition DVDs for all three.

Jesus that movie was long. But good. And it ended about 50 times. I wanna get the extended set for all 3, but I'll have to take a week off from work to watch them.

i plan on getting the extended ROTK and watching all three extended movies, one disk a night. it'll be like a miniseries. i'm also trying not to watch them a whole lot when they're on cable. i'm affraid of getting sick of them.

in retrospect, the first movie is the best. gollum is amazing in the other two, but the 2nd and 3rd had a little too much formula for my tastes.

I liked ROTK the best. The battle scences were unbeliveable and you didn't have to deal with the set up of the characters. The ending was a bit drawn out though.

yeah, ROTK is a great movie, but like someone else said, I could have done without the homo-eroticism that was in the film in many places. I know Sam and Frodo had been on the road for a while, but damn...
