    Remember that is was Chipper's call to move back to third. He said he was going to stay there until the Braves had a better option. Right now, they don't have one.

    Well, not exactly. Chipper more or less demanded to be moved back to third, and pretty much made it clear that he did not ever want to play the outfield again. He kept talking about how boring it was out there, and how that got him out of rhythm and made it harder to concentrate at the plate, etc.

    Barry Bonds started in the outfield, so there was nothing to change. And for the record, a lot of infielders have complained about being forced into the outfield (Craig Biggio, etc). Moreover, Chipper handled it privately, so I don't think it's appropriate to call him a bitch. Actually I think he'd be a bitch if he sat there and took it without expressing his desires. After all, it's not like he refused to play when they wanted him in the outfield, he just wanted to be back on the infield and did what it took to get there.

    Not that Boston is poor or anything, but that 11M in cash makes no sense. That means that the Sox are paying 19 million of his 26 remaining. If that's true the Braves made one Hell of a deal.

    aren't the sox paying only $11 million?

    anyway, if the sox can trade Manny and get Tejada (a third team would have to be involved I'd think) that would be a good thing.

    yeah. wells for roberts. If the guy could hit .280, steal a few bases and score some runs, it would be great to have him at the bottom of the order. You know the defense would be upgraded. Could switch Youkilis with Loretta, since Youkilis is such a good on-base guy.

    No, the Sox are picking up $8 million of the remaining 26 million, as K-Town-Yankee quoted, plus the additional $3 million if the Braves decline Renteria's '09 option. $8 mil + $3 mil = $11 mil.


    And you dirty sox fans go back to your own thread. You post like you drive - all over the fucking place. Furthermore, my Orioles are not giving you Tejada, much less Tejada and Roberts. Keep fucking dreaming.
