Take it all out.....reset everything and start from scratch. There's always that option.

Desk top is fine. You know the home network wizard Microsoft has that has you make a disc OR use a jump drive to carry the small file to the new computer to add to network, I plugged it back in desk top USB and it worked fine. Must have altered something briefly. The laptop issue is still there. It has an internal wireless card and I also have a plug in wireless card. I am not 100% sure that the "radio" (I think that's cutting on the wireless card to allow it to receive the router signal). Don't you hit control and F9 to make sure it's on?

I am probably the 1 billionth person, dumb ass to ask this but what is a WEP Key? I have a Linksys Router. Did it come with this WEP key that I should have known? Googling it (WEP) there are programs that will generate them. Is this the best course of action?

WEP is just a (old and deprecated) way to secure your wireless network. You have a linksys router, which has WEP (and probably the superior WPA) support but it is not enabled by default.

Can you explain a bit more detail about your home network and how you are attempting to connect?

Why do you have two wireless NICs in your laptop?

Have you changed your Linksys router wireless settings? Have you changed the broadcast SSID or is it still the default (linksys)? You should definitely do as math said and clear out all unused connection profiles.

I have connected to the home network (54 Mbps) but it isn't connecting to the internet. Ideas?
