    October 9, 2003

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Season ticket packages for the 2003-04 Charlotte 49ers men's and women's basketball teams are currently on sale.

The men's basketball team looks to return to the postseason and will be led by fifth-year senior Demon Brown. In addition, fans are extremely excited about the arrival of ESPN's top-rated center in America, 7-0 Martin Iti.

The ultimate and most affordable family package in Charlotte is the Food Lion Family Zone. A family of four can receive season tickets for only $189. Five-game packages and a variety of season tickets can be purchased today by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at (704) 687-4949.

The women's basketball team is looking for a repeat appearance in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. Head coach Katie Meier's squad has the fifth-longest home winning streak in America at 16-straight wins. The 49ers qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history, last season. The women will be led by senior Peaches Harris and a strong group of other returning letterwinners.

If your family is looking for an exciting entertaining experience, then we have your ticket. Season tickets for a family of four are just $40 and an individual season ticket is $30 for all 13 home games. Also, inquire about the Charlotte 49ers women's basketball spirit group, the Eureka Club. For more women's basketball ticket information, please call (704) 687-4949.

thats what I bought. Seems to me there is more emphasis this year on that package.

btw, ticket sales are flat. I don't think there has been an increase over last year. I was hoping Iti sparked some more tix sales. :(

metro, NC A & T and Delaware State don't excite many basketball fans in the Charlotte area. There's not much to get too excited about until mid January, IMO.

The December 30 game might as well have the curtains down, there will be no attendance.
