The Redskins cut him. He could atleast replace Hankton and give us a back-up PR.

If Spurrier cut him that should be a sign. I would stay away from Anthony.

RJ Bowers was so good, some fans said, that he'd make us pay when he'd get cut by Pittsburgh a year later.
Mike Roberg didn't make any promises, but both are now wishing they'd paid by the day instead of the week.

I would prefer we get rid of Hankton anyway. He's been here for how long and he's still at the bottom of the depth chart. Granted he does give us good reps on ST's, but you'd like to have a guy like him show some improvement.
Anthony should have turned out to be a lot better than he did, but he didn't! An under achiever to say the least. Who would he beat out. Not Moose or Byrd, and he isn't so much of a burner to be the down field guy you'd want. He runs shabby routes, drops too many balls, and isn't fast enough to compensate for that.
I'd rather stick with what we got.

just sarcasm. I knew of too many people who said that Bowers was going to be a hell of a back and we couldn't afford to put him at FB much less cut him later on.

Bowers had FB written all over him. Might make a decent H-back if he could catch?

has the size. Wasn't he like 6'2? He never had the beef for a fullback, runs too high for any back position. But he could be an H-, sure.

I kinda feel bad we wasted a pick on Kyle Johnson right now. He had measurables and a good pedigree but that's it.

I thought Bowers weighed in at about 240???

The good thing about Johnson is that he is a rookie. He has a few years to show improvement, before I would call him a complete waste. But at the moment, he looks to fit that billing.

well, he came in at 235 but that was about as good as it got. Problem is at that weight he wasn't very strong. Kinda like Mangum - sure, he's added some muscle, but the weight's still largely the same and the results are pretty much still the same.
