WLOS TV reported last night that JJ Redick has verbally committed to take part in the annual ACC/Crossfire Challenge. The annual mountain event will take place on Saturday April 22nd at the Asheville Civic Center. I was really suprised to hear this news last night because usually the marquee ACC players from the Big 4 never play in this game just because of the risk of injury. For us fans who can't afford to watch college games in person, it's always a treat every spring to see the best seniors from the Big 4 come to Asheville and perform while also spreading the word of christ.

A full roster hasn't been released yet but I would guess David Noel, Cameron Bennerman, Illian Evtimov, Tony Bethel, Trent Strickland and Justin Gray were also invited along with others.

does this mean that the players perform and others spread the word of Christ? Or do the players spread the word of Christ? I wouldn't think JJ would be much of a witness with his knack for profane language and alleged pot use.

I guess if you consider the current state of Dook athletics, "rolling a fatty" takes on a WHOLE other meaning.

You do make a good point there. I could have done a better job phrasing that. Sometimes the ball players do share a personal stories with the crowd. Maybe Randy Shepherd will say a special prayer for JJ.
