Agreed, but I think a lot depends on how much he still has left that he can improve in his game. If he is at the top of his game then Miller would be a reach imo.

It's really hard to know how his game will translate in the NBA. He will be against taller and faster and of course most of the players are better, where as in college 99% of the time he is the better player unless he is matched up against a defensive specialist like Manuel at UNC in the past.

But of course he could be another Langdon, but hopefully it won't be that bad.

Does any dookie really give a flying fuck how Redick does in the pros? Obviously I wish him well, but beyond that, if he isn't on the Bobcats, I could give a shit.

Sure, Redick being a great pro may help a few years down the road, but I'd trade it ALL for a National Championship.

As far as comparing him to Langdon, maybe two years ago, today? Nope. Way ahead of anything TL did in a Duke uniform.

I guess the ones that responded earlier in this thread care, but I don't know that for sure.

There are somethings that Langdon was better at the Redick. Yes, Redick has been a better scorer but that is from taking a ton more shots, it's not like his 4 year FG% or 3pt% is any better. Langdon was on more balanced teams from what I remember, but I haven't looked them up to be sure.

Langdon was on some assy teams.

He was on the 1-15 ACC team but didn't play as a freshman.

He was on the next team, and the team after that, and the team after that, and then the 99 team.

98 and 99 Duke was solid, 96 was a loss to WMich (Earl Boykins) I think and 97 a loss to Providence and God Shammgod and Austin Croshere. Both 96 and 97 were strictly guard oriented teams that gunned threes like they were going out of style. I respect Langdon for what he did, carried us through some tough years, but he isn't/wasn't/never will be Redick. He never had the all-around offensive game that Redick does.

If memory serves it was Eastern Michigan (Chippewas)....I still think JJ will be a good pro, but not a star. Long career as a guy who can hit 3's and give good minutes off the bench...like a Kerr/ Paxson....

    EDITED to remove stupid reference.

You're damn right and I can't believe I missed that.

Eastern Michigan with Earl Boykins is on my shitlist.

He can shoot, I take nothing away from the man on that...but he won't do much at 6'2" against an NBA defensive player

    Reggie Miller? :umno:

JJ is listed at 6-4. There are alot of 6-4 players that have no problem scoring in the NBA. If JJ can get on a team with a good point guard and a legit threat down low I can see him avg 12-14 point as a rookie.

Did anyone notice that none of the people named in this paragraph play in the current NBA?

I thought these comparisons were better than the Steve Kerr and Paxson comparison, who also do not play in the current NBA. Korver is about the only one I have seen that still plays in the NBA and he only averaged 18 points a game for Creighton his last year, although their conference might be the best of the mid-majors.
