First off I hate Duke but, JJ is probally the most lethal offensive player I have ever seen in college basketball- I'm 28 so I didn't get to see Pistol Pete avg like 50 a game. The best I could remember as a scorer is probally Hersey Hawkins at Bradley. So I got to thinking about his game is going to translate to the next level....

Most people say he is too little and not athletic enough to play SG si I started thinking about small SG with a similar game ( JJ is listed at 6-4 190)...I think JJ is better than all these players except Dumars.

Joe Dumars 6-3 190- If JJ can be as good as Dumars he's gonna be just fine.Reminds alot of JJ except better defensively and could run the point in a pinch- JJ will have to learn how to handle running point in small spurts

Hersey Hawkins 6-3 190 avg's 36 pts a game as a senior in college against less competition than JJ faces night in and out and avg's 15 pts a game over his NBA career.

Jeff Hornacek 6-3 190 Never a great college scorer but, threw in about 15 pts a night over his NBA career.

Dell Curry- 6-5-205 Real similar game to JJ-JJ is better driving avg'd 12 a game but that is avg is brought down by some low out put years when he was in his upper 30's

I could see him as Hornacek or Curry, but not Dumars or Hawkins.

yep .Dumars and Hawk could play D. DellCurry not so much. JJ will play in the NBA. if he goes to a team like San Anotnio or Miami with a big, he will be open for shots. if he was on the Bobcritters, he would get exploited.

his game reminds me of Glen Rice.shoot too much and not much else in the pros. but Gmoney was 6-8

the next Kyle Korver, but shorter. Redick will be around the NBA a long time, but likely not a star.

He won't go to San Antonio or Miami just based on the fact that he'll more than likely be a top 5 or top 10 pick in the draft next year. I think it'd be cool if he went to the Bulls and when Gordon was out it'd be Duhon, Redick, and Deng on the floor :ylsuper:

I think he will have a good career as a sixth man who comes in and hits threes. I do not think his athletic ability will ever be enough to make him a star in the NBA but little better version of Steve Kerr comes to mind.

He still reminds me of Dell Curry. The quick release and ability to score with ppl in his face make me think that. The Steve Kerr comparisons always come up because he's white, but Kerr was a better defender and not quite as good a scorer as Redick.

I thought he'd be like Steve Kerr before this season started, but he has overachieved considerably. I could see him being anywhere from Dell Curry to Reggie Miller (At the absolute very best).

I think the Reggie Miller comparison is reasonable, but that obviously represents the best case scenario. He's impressed the hell out of me this season, so I'm not betting against him succeeding in the NBA.
