Thanks man - let me tell you and Franchise why I never post here (and rarely watch baseball) during the regular season.

Being a Braves fan, I watch some because they show them all the time. But the main reason I don't watch much is (1) the fans and (2) the announcers.

The damn fans make no noise during the regular season. I like watching games where the crowd is loud and rowdy and rasing hell. You get cheers on strikes and balls, not just when somebody gets a hit or home run or strikes out. Every good play gets an ovation. It's just a not a hell of a lot of fun to watch a game when the fans seem like they could care less.

The announcers during the regular season are just as bad. Half the time they sound like they are about to fall asleep or talk iin a monotone. During the postseason the announcers act like they know what they're talking about (even if they don't) and they are enthusiastic about the game. They talk about the players. They analyze the hitting and the pitching and talk about strategy. And they sound excited when something happens, even if it's just a good defensive play. It's just so much more entertaining.

And in the postseason, if the Yankees are in it, I LIVE to pull against them. I love the history of baseball and realize the Yankees one of the greatest parts of it. But I still don't like them. They're fun to hate.

I love going to watch baseball games in person. I go to the Crawdads games here all the time. But I doubt I'll ever be a diehard through the season MLB fan unless they pump some excitement into it during the regular season.

Carry on. Go Red Sox!!! :xyzthumbs

I hear ya Silver, alot of people are like that, and I understand. Must be nice when your team is always on tv. I would go insane if the Dodger got air time like the Braves did. I dont expect them too, but I'll get the MLB package next year. :xyzthumbs

i understand you silver. tons of baseball fans feel the same way. in fairness, it honestly takes a baseball junkie freak like myself, rs, or franchise to get all excited the whole 6 months. for most, the nfl does that to them. to us few, mlb day in and day out does it for us. with that said, its hard to get excited for 162 games sometimes. a couple times or so a year i go thru a stretch where i have to take a break for a few days to a week myself unless there is a great matchup or something that is a "can't miss" game. i wouldn't change a thing tho. the baseball season is a marathon and not a sprint, and this astros/cards series is proof that it is perfect the way it is. cut out 10 games, hell, even 1 or 2 games, off the tail end of the season and we aren't watching this excellent series, cause the astros are on their couches.
