UNC is no longer recruiting Brian Johnson. Expect him to go to Louisville or Notre Dame now.

Livingston visited the Heels last weekend and stated he feels "part of a big family". JR Smith is a friend of his as well so good news for UNC.

Livingston then visited Duke and there is talk that he was promised that Paulus signing has no impact on his recruitment to Duke.

Dwight Howard will likely visit UNC too, but he is still expected to go pro despite statements to the contrary. He is a possible #1 pick over Okefor of UConn.

Also, Quentin Thomas a PG from Cali has set a date to visit UNC as well.

UNC is now tentatively looking at CJ Giles a PF (6-10) from Seattle as well.

No tenative about it... Roy's going to his house in Seattle this weekend... I've gotta assume this means two things... (1)Roys still concerned about Damian Grant's knee... and (2) I'll bet you money Marvin Williams knows this kid in some way

Just to show you how recruiting is working these days, State's made an offer to a rising junior in Black Mountain. I'd hate to go up against Roy for the younguns.

I don't know Brain. I gotta think this kids is more of a backup plan than a target. Livingston is #1 and they are gonna wait on him.

My question is this... how exactly can we give Livingston a scholy offer. Somebody would have to transfer right? How can a coach offer a scholy with none open? Any kid that says "YES, I'm going pro" is a bit nieve IMO. What if he gets injuried or his stock drops? I'm sure Roy knows something but if I were Livingston I would wonder.

if Grant is injured bad enough they can get an extra scholly from the NCAA for an injury exception

Can you show me this in the rule book because I'm pretty sure that is not right. He may get an extra year of eligiblity but the scholly is still taken.

I mean along the lines of the NCAA frees up his scholarship and UNC pays for him to stay in school and his playing days are over... its been done before

    State's got 3 commitments now:

In picking the Wolfpack, Gavin Grant becomes the third player this year to do so. He’s ranked No. 82 in TheInsidersHoops.com’s Pre-Season Top 100. Cedric Simmons, the Pack’s first commitment, checks in at No. 21. Toney Bethel is the third member of the class and he’s sitting out with two years remaining after having transferred from Georgetown.

    I guess 21 & 82 aren't bad for a non-UNC or Duke school.
