Exactly...I'm pretty sure the army all american combine, or whatever it was called, put Hurst over the top. All you have to do is look at the one-on-one linemen videos to see that the kid can play against anybody in his class.

State fans spend so much time looking for UNC conspiracy theories, that it's a miracle that they can even function in the real world.

BTW, you can watch Robert Crisp getting owned on those same videos.

All I'm doing is posting what the articles on IC said. The only time I see he was a 5-star was when he committed.

I believe you when you say he was a 5-star before he committed to UNC but I was only basing my opinions of off the IC page.

Why not try looking up when the last set off rankings at Scout.com instead of basing it off of two separate news articles.

That's like saying When UNC played their last game in 2000 you read an article, and then at the end of 2001 you read an article. Must mean that somehow they were involved in the attack on the WTC. Just because you didn't read it doesn't make it something that didn't happen.

Even if there was an argument to be made about a recruitment boosting Hurst's rankings, his top three before he committed to Carolina, were UNC, Florida, and Georgia, and he had plenty of other offers from big time programs. So, I would think that Florida, Georgia, as well as teams like Ohio State, who were also recruiting him, would carry more weight than Carolina in this kind of conspiracy theory argument. Butch Davis is not the mega evil genius that State fans seem to think he is.

Before ending his North Carolina official visit over the weekend, Mississippi State transfer Nelson Hurst informed the Tar Heels' coaching staff that he would be transferring to UNC.

“I will definitely be going to school here [at UNC],” Hurst told IC through a text message. “It’s an absolutely awesome place.”
Hurst, a 6-foot-4, 243-pound tight end from Plainfield (Ind.), was granted his release from Mississippi State roughly two months ago.

After his younger brother, James, verbally committed to UNC, Hurst began to strongly consider UNC as a transfer option. Hurst, who had never previously visited UNC, took his lone official visit this past weekend to Chapel Hill with his parents and James in tow.

Hurst said he will likely wait until the fall semester to enroll at UNC. He will sit out this coming season, per NCAA transfer rules, but will then have three years of eligibility remaining.

Coming out of Plainfield High School, Hurst was a three-star prospect, as ranked by Scout.com. He signed with Mississippi State over scholarship offers from UCLA, Illinois and Purdue. After enrolling for the spring 2008 semester, Hurst started ten games and appeared in all 12 as a true freshman, recording two receptions.

He will be a 5-star player before this week is over.
