    American Idol
    Survivor
    Joe Millionaire
    The Bachelor
    The Bachelorette

    Any other "reality" TV show.

Worst thing that ever happened to television. Every time I see a commercial for a new one of these imbecilic shows I want to puke. Last night during the NFC championship I muted the National Anthem cause that idiot that won American Idol was singing it. I've never muted the National Anthem before.

Did I mention I hate reality TV shows?

What's ironic about them is they're not really reality TV. I mean, how many times have you heard of someone getting to choose between 25 potential suitors?

Ive been calling it voyeur TV since the original Real World - NY. It's lowest common denominator programming on par with wrestling and fishing shows. And I'm guilty of watching it from time to time. I'll probably watch at least a little bit of the "my big fat onxoious fiance" one.

Specifically. to me, they are like math said, not "real" at all. And the American Idol one just plain sucks. How can you stand to listen and watch those terrible acts???? I still think that guy that won last year and that Clay dude both suck.

I think they ought to do one like Survivor (I think I mentioned this before) where they put them on an Island and are hunted down by assassins with real weapons. Last person alive, gets the money. Say $10 million. The contestants would also get a weapon.

    Now THAT I would watch.

I'll clarify my position a little: I just don't care to even TRY to watch them. I've not seen a single episode of Survivor or any of the others. I'm just not intrigued.

    i beg to differ...

i watch "idol" for it's entertainment value. and i somehow suspect that this might be a set up. to promote a person maybe? gosh, i hope not. i suspect it, is all. why are they looking in the wrong places? there are better ways of looking for real singing talents. most of the ones who are talented already are in ny or los angeles or places like that and they already have agents. so if they want a singer to promote, they are out there. so i will ASSume they are just looking to entertain.

the emotions, and actions of the people involved are real, i think. this is how i think it made it to "reality" tv. it may not be real to you, but it is real bec it is not scripted. that is how i understood it. i can be wrong.

i just now started watching tv again bec i am friends with someone who watches a lot of tv. i love it! i like spike tv's elimination show. that japanese show that is "dubbed" in english, and whoever writes that stuff is hella funny! i watch it bec it tickles my funny bones.
