Anyone been to see it yet? I'm hoping to go this weekend. I heard Jamie Fox interviewed on NPR about it awhile back, & I think it should be pretty damn good. I know the soundtrack kicks ass :)

I thought it was pretty well done, but I don't know diddly about Ray Charles. A lot more depressing than I would've thought -- that man had a hard life, and a lot of his turmoil was self-induced.

I've heard it was good, will definitely make an effort to see it. My first trip to the theatre in years.

Oh, hasbeen99...sigh....a member among the unwashed and uninitiated. :) I never would have thought it. You don't know what you've been missing. And you call yourself a Christian.. Forgive him Father, for he knows not what he.....:laugh1:

    It was well done.

For time contraints, they sort of made his two wives into one. Believe it or not, hb, his womanizing was worse than protrayed on film. He kicked the heroin addiction in the early 60s, but I don't think he ever really kicked the women habit.

I was in Boston when he got busted; 'cept I heard it was coke.

Anyhow, I read somewhere that he had 12 or 13 kids with several women. He was a womanizer but he treated them "right." :)

Hasbeens, I was chiding you because Brother Ray's music comes right from the church, southern black gospel, really swinging sh*t....didn't mean any offense.

None taken, Jazz. :) Besides, I've only been a Christian since November of '99, so I'm still pretty naive about a lot of things. :D
